Car Camping over the years

From a dusty Honda Minivan on my first solo road-trip to the Ford Transit I now call my sleeper van, car camping has been the quiet through-line of my life outdoors.

It started as the simplest way to stretch a paycheck into more trail days—no reservations, just a map, a cliff bar, and a sleeping bag. Over time the setups changed, but the reason stayed the same: park somewhere beautiful, crack the door, and let the landscape tell you what comes next.

This gallery is a loose timeline of that evolution—gear that got lighter, cooking that got tastier, rigs that got a bit more dialed, and campsites that kept teaching me how little I actually need. Scroll through, linger where something sparks a memory of your own, and feel free to borrow an idea or two for your next pull-off.

Cheers to a trunk that always closes on the first try, coffee that tastes better at altitude, and a horizon that keeps moving just out of reach. Hope you find some inspiration to block of a weekend and get out there.
